After gracing the Australian small screen for almost two decades, Carpet Court is excited to announce that Shelley Craft has joined the team!
Everyday Australians have welcomed Shelley into their homes since the early 1990s, well known for her long-running on-screen career with Saturday Disney, The Great Outdoors and as the host of Australia's Funniest Home Video Show.
More recently, Shelley has been putting the Domestic Blitz and The Block teams through their paces, while working on a few home projects of her own. Shelley joins longstanding ambassador and interior designer Darren Palmer and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and advice with budding renovators.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the team at Carpet Court and can't wait to start working with Darren to help others strike the balance between designer style and family life." After renovating five of her own homes and seeing more than 50 properties transformed through her on air TV roles, Shelley has the know-how to help you create a magical family home.
"My parents designed and built my two childhood homes, so the building site environment and process is something very familiar to me."
Shelley has recently moved to an acreage in Byron Bay and has settled for a mini renovation, with plans to rebuild down the track. It will be a well deserved break after Shelley and her estate agent husband, Christian Sergiacomi, spent months hammering away to renovate their previous 6,100 square metre property, known as The Rise.
"The house didn't need any structural work, but we were really keen to bring up to date for modern family living. Inside we painted, added new carpets and updated the look of the home," she said.
When they first moved in, Shelley was eight months pregnant with her first baby and was happy to hold off on a major renovation. "I think it's really important to live in a house for a while first so you know what you need to change.
"When the time comes you will need a good foundation so I recommend building from the bottom up. Ask yourself the question, how do I love to live? Your home might be a quiet sanctuary or you might like to entertain so choose a style, layout and colours that suit your lifestyle and start by finding the right floor for your family."
