Indulge yourself in a totally different way this Easter, with a spot of interiors experimentation. As we get well and truly into autumn, it’s a chance to take advantage of more time spent indoors by giving your space a bit of an update with some quick and easy seasonal touches.
Better still, make the most of the holidays and get the whole family involved in some crafty DIY decorating projects that promise to make your space totally unique. Here are our top interiors ideas for the Easter period.
DIY Easter eggs
An ongoing family favourite in every house, get crafty with the kids and try our hand at decorating our own Easter eggs. Simply hard boil your eggs and let them cool before unleashing your inner artist using whatever materials you have available, bearing in mind the overall style of the room. Allow things like glue and paint to dry fully before placing them in bowls, vases and woven baskets around the home – the end result might not be quite as fancy as a Fabergé, but they do bring some seasonal character to your space!
Fall in love with rugs
With Easter leading us into the cooler months, it’s the perfect time to bring some extra warmth to your home by introducing a rug to your floor space. We are loving the Como rug in Natural Silver from their new Naturals Rug Collection. Its knit weave adds cosy texture to your room, while the lighter shade contrasts beautifully with dark wooden floors – a gorgeous mix for fall.
Freshen up interiors with fresh flowers
You can’t go wrong with Australian native flowers, like Gums, Bottlebrushes, Chrysanthemums and the essential Easter Daisy, all of which are in their peak flowering periods in the run up to Easter, so bouquets look amazing, while the cost is relatively low. For a twist, instead of arranging them in a traditional vase, let them stand in a tall wire basket filled with eggs for a quirky arrangement that will impress your Easter guests.
Make an entrance
Who says wreaths can only be for Christmas! Add a natural greeting to your home by decorating a basic willow wreath with moss, Easter Daisies and succulents and hanging on the front door to bring your home to life for the Easter period.
