Provide some insight into the products that you selected; what are their key benefits and features?

A: With flooring, we chose the GrandOak Chevron in Mink Grey for our hallway, living-dining room, and kitchen. The boards have a soft and warm underfoot, and the natural knots and shades create a beautiful blend.

For the bedrooms, we of course had to go with carpet, selecting Alpine Retreat in Falls Creek, with its looped pattern that feels like walking on a cloud.

The carpet’s blend of natural tones and different shades easily matched our colour palette. Both options were durable, soft, and natural-looking, making them perfect for our home.

Why did you select GrandOak Chevron in Mink Grey. In what areas has it been used and why?

A: We opted for GrankOak Chevron in Mink Grey for its natural look, including knots and distinct shades, and its chevron pattern. We used it in our hallway, living-dining room, and kitchen to create a cohesive look throughout the main living areas of our home. The boards’ natural appearance and pattern complimented our decor perfectly, enhancing the overall aesthetic of each room.

When it came to flooring, what was your brief? Were there any particular requirements or lifestyle factors that you needed to consider in the selection product?

A: When selecting our flooring, it was important that it had a natural appearance and offered a soft underfoot feel. The GrandOak Chevron’s wider boards were a perfect match for our long hallway, providing an ideal fit that met our requirements. In addition to its functional benefits, the chevron timber has an organic look and feel adding a touch of warmth and comfort to our home, making it the perfect option for us.

How did you make an informed decision on your flooring and carpet selection? Did you review samples to see what colours and textures would and wouldn’t work in your home? Did you seek advice from an expert at Carpet Court?

A: We brought home various samples of flooring and carpet after visiting our local Carpet Court to assess how they looked under natural lighting in our house. We wanted to make sure it wasn’t too dark or too light for our home. Sometimes you can’t tell when viewing on the showroom floor, so we highly recommend taking some samples home.

Why did you select Alpine Retreat in Falls Creek as the carpet for your home? In what areas has it been used and why?

A: We selected the Alpine Retreat carpet for our bedrooms since we felt it blended well with various colour schemes and furnishings.

When it came to carpet, what was your brief? Were there any particular requirements or lifestyle factors that you needed to consider in the selection product?

A: Having a baby and two cats that frequently tracked dirt meant that we needed to be practical when selecting carpet and the Alpine Retreat range was the best option for us. Its blend of colours makes it highly resistant to showing stains, surpassing the performance of solid-coloured carpets. Additionally, the wool material of the carpet is a great relief for allergies.

Did you consider any current interior / flooring “trends” when selecting your flooring/ carpet? If so, please explain the inspiration behind your selections.

A: We did not prioritise any design trends when selecting our flooring it was purely a personal taste. We absolutely love chevron flooring and the colour and texture of the looped carpet and together they are even better!

How long did the carpet and flooring process take with Carpet Court? Did you have to undertake any preparation before the install of each? Please provide details for both the carpet and flooring installation process.

A: Although the flooring process itself took only a couple of days, we spent several days beforehand preparing the surface to ensure a flawless result. We were meticulous with the ground slab and skimmed it until it was perfectly flat. Given the thickness of our carpet and underlay, we also took great care to leave enough clearance under the skirting boards. Prior to installation, we painstakingly scraped and vacuumed the area to ensure that no dirt or construction debris remained that could potentially mar the carpet’s surface.
