We’re fortunate that in Australia we have areas that allow you to easily find tropical foliage to intersperse through our homes and gardens. Using large, and often very graphic looking, leaves of plants like bird of paradise, palms or ferns can give your home a great deal of impact for very little effort and cost. This is particularly appropriate for that fresh, almost-spring feeling.
Creating such large impact with foliage is as easy as sitting a healthy fern in the centre of your dining table or window ledge, finding some large palm leaves a home within an oversized vase or urn, or bundling together bird of paradise flowers en masse for a big punch of tropical beauty.
This look works particularly well with modern, Australian designer furniture and a light oak palette.
