Care Instructions

Please refer to your product guide or store for the best advice on how to care for your window coverings.

What are Concorde blinds?

While Carpet Court are recognised as Australia’s largest carpet and flooring retailer with over two hundred locally-owned and operated stores, a large number of our stores also have an extensive range of custom made blinds available. If you are shopping for quality window coverings for your new or existing home or office, our vast selection is sure to have something to enhance your home décor.

To help decide which is the best window covering for your home and budget, browse our products online or visit your local store to consider whether venetian, panel glide, vertical, roman or roller blinds are the perfect window dressing for you. We also sell plantation shutters – a classic and timeless product that never goes out of fashion.

One of our very popular fabrics, the Concorde, is available in a variety of stunning colours in a roller or panel glide blind.  This beautiful fabric in a choice of several earthy tones has a horizontal grain running through the fabric which creates an impression of width and space.

Panel glide blinds

While panel glide blinds in the delightful Concorde fabric will create a sophisticated ambience in many homes, they also offer the functional practicality such as privacy, insulation, and protecting your interior from damaging UV rays when closed. When open, panel glide blinds allow maximum light and visibility through your windows and glass doors.

Panel glide blinds aren’t your ‘shrinking violet’ kind of blind. They are bold and alluring and somewhat attention-seeking. Panel glide blinds make a statement and are particularly suited to large, open floorplans and generously-sized glass doors and window cavities.

While they are similar to a vertical blind, panel glide blinds have a contemporary appearance and are operated by a simple wand with no need for chains or chain-retaining brackets. They are generally mounted outside the door or window cavity where they slide across and stack neatly, but they can also be inside-mounted if need be.

What colours are available in a Concorde blind?

The home decorating trends of today include many light, natural colour palettes. The Concorde fabric is no exception, offering a selection of stunning tones to complement every home décor.

The strongest colours of Caf and Slate are rich, warm tones with contrasting light and dark shades through the linear texture. Stone, Egret and Ivory are exquisite whites which will enhance many light, bright white home colour schemes giving a fresh appearance against which several pops of colour can be placed. Ash and Pebble are gorgeous earthy colours which blend perfectly with the natural, woven texture of the fabric.

Does the colour palette of Concorde include earthy tones?

Highly popular in today’s interior colour schemes are natural, earthy colours which are ideal shades for blending your interior with nature’s own colour palette visible through your glass doors and windows. Caf, Pebble and Ash are particularly inclined to fuse smoothly with a colour scheme which is predominantly earthy.

The natural, woven texture of the Concorde blind is also well-suited to earthy colour palettes and creates a relaxing and tasteful vibe in your living or sleeping areas.

Why choose custom blinds?

Custom blinds are made-to-measure, which means they will fit exactly, to the centimetre, into your door or window cavity. When you require blinds where light exclusion is imperative, a custom blind will provide the greatest result.

While many ready-made blinds claim to be ‘standard window sizes’, in fact most door and window frames have slight variations, especially in an older home where movement can occur. Custom blinds are the ideal way to ensure a perfect fit between the blinds and your doors or windows, leaving no unsightly gaps around the perimeter.

A close fit is also an important factor when ensuring good insulation, as heat can both escape and penetrate through the gaps around blinds. A custom blind ensures that any heat transmission is minimalised.

When selecting a roman, roller, vertical, panel glide or vertical custom blind from Carpet Court’s range of beautiful fabrics, you can also choose to co-ordinate the colours of your blind’s accessories, such as tracks and pelmets and bottom rails on roller blinds.
