For the great Australian home, timber floors replicate the tough, enduring and spectacular beauty of this magnificent environment in which we live. Whether yours is a city-based apartment, a country homestead, a beachfront shack or something in between, timber floors bring a host of benefits to the home, not least of which is their ability to transform any interior with their sleek and lustrous appearance. Timber floors are capable of adding warmth to a cool interior colour palette, as well as texture and vibrancy to a minimalist home décor style.
Timber floors are ideal in busy family homes for many practical reasons. Dirt and dust can be easily swept or vacuumed, spills simply wiped or mopped up. They don’t harbour allergens so they are safe for children and people with sensitivities, asthma or hayfever.
The addition of rugs to your timber floors will reduce noise under foot and create a softer, warmer atmosphere in the room.
What are the benefits of timber floating flooring
The benefits of timber floating flooring is a long list! Aside from their obvious versatility in creating both sophisticated elegance and casually chic impressions within any style of home, timber floors are easy to clean, low maintenance, tough and durable, hypoallergenic, will last a lifetime and of course they are breathtakingly beautiful.
Timber floating floors are one of the simplest floors to clean. For a quick clean, sweep with a soft indoor broom or dry mop with a microfibre mop or an electrostatic cloth to pick up dust, dirt, pet hair and the like. Or you can vacuum with a hardwood floor brush attachment. Make sure you have the right vacuum head attachment for your hardwood floors to avoid scratching the timber. Some types of footwear like stiletto heels can damage timber floors, so these are best avoided.
Floating flooring isn’t difficult to install but for that perfect finish we do recommend using our professional, highly experienced and knowledgeable installers who can also install your underlay too.
When installed you will find your timber floating flooring has an amazing ability to adapt to its surroundings and can easily project a formal or a casual look. One of our popular timber floating floors, the Latitude 25, easily does just that.
Blackbutt and Spotted Gum colours
The Latitude 25 floating floorboards are available in two popular and versatile colours, Blackbutt and Spotted Gum.
Blackbutt is the lighter of the two, with darker knots and grains and a lustrous, earthy glow which will suit many interior colour palettes. Spotted Gum is a very popular colour for timber flooring due to its intensely rich range of stunning natural brown tones enhanced by contrasting grains which flow comfortably throughout the timber.
Both these colours are adaptable to any style of home décor, adopting a more sophisticated air in a formal room while appearing cool and sassy in a family room.
The luxurious appearance of timber floating floorboards
Many modern homes are currently styled with fresh, cool colour palettes in whites and greys. The gleaming, luxurious appearance of Latitude 25’s rich colours, gnarly knots and meandering grains creates an elegant vibrancy in the room.
The variety of earthy tones within the natural timber provides a base against which to marry a number of colours and textures to create a style uniquely your own.
Timber floating floorboards have the ability to transform a room, creating a sense of timeless luxury, cleanliness, and contemporary style to homes of any era and design.
