Your new carpet is a substantial investment and like your other fine furnishings, requires proper care to keep it attractive over the years to come. You can protect your investment, prolong the life of your carpet and enhance the quality of your indoor environment by establishing a regular maintenance schedule. A comprehensive carpet care program consists of four elements: preventative measures, regular vacuuming, spot cleaning and steam cleaning. More detailed information on each of these elements can be found in the product brochure attached here.
What is triexta and what are its benefits?
Triexta fibres, as used in Carpet Court’s Redbrook Green Life Nature’s Gift collection, are one of the latest breakthroughs in textile innovation. They are made from Sorona, a renewably sourced biopolymer constructed from 37% natural corn sugar. As a result, triexta carpets combine the best of both natural and synthetic fibres.
While synthetic fibres are renowned for their resistance to wear, fading and pile crushing, the natural base of triexta fibres also means Nature’s Gift carpets are exceptionally soft underfoot.
Triexta carpets typically carry a significantly lower environmental footprint than other polymer carpets too. This makes them an ideal option for those seeking a more ethical and sustainable flooring solution for their home.
Where is this carpet best suited to?
Cut twist pile carpets tend to work well in most areas of the home – even those which experience high levels of foot traffic. Their resistance to pile crushing helps the carpet to retain its look and finish for longer. It also means the fibres are less likely to shed with wear, reducing the need to vacuum.
If you’re looking to bring a bold pop of colour to a child’s bedroom, then Nature’s Gift carpets in Tangerine, Atoll Blue or Deep Seagreen will do just that. In spaces that call for a more muted palette, alternative neutrals like the pale pink of Gardenia or soft gold of Dark Fog complement a wide range of interior styles.
How do I care for this carpet?
Keep your Nature’s Gift carpet looking as good as new by vacuuming regularly to pick up any dry debris or dirt. This prevents grains from becoming embedded in the fibres, which can cause them to wear down over time and create unsightly patches. To clean deep down into the pile, we also recommend treating your Nature’s Gift carpet to a steam clean every 12 to 18 months.
In the case of spills or more serious stains, make sure you address them as quickly as possible. Try using hot water and a clean cloth in the first instance. Blot rather than rub the stain, working from the outside in, to prevent the stain from spreading or the carpet from becoming worn down.
More information on how best to care for your new purchase can be found in our online cleaning and care guide.
