Will a textured carpet suit any décor?
Texture has been a big buzzword in interior design for some time, and the luxurious looking Stoney River range is a perfect example of this on-trend look. Darren Palmer, Australia’s renowned design guru and our own Carpet Court ambassador recommends adding texture in any form to a home – be it in carpet such as Stoney River, throw rugs or chunky cushions, as they instantly give a contemporary space warmth and depth. In homes where the visual landscape is quite neutral, this sort of textural addition balances the look and provides a sense of luxury and sophistication. On a more practical level, textured carpets are far less likely to show any wear patterns, so even if your Stoney River Carpet is installed in high traffic areas, it will maintain its stylish good looks for many years to come.
What are the benefits of a loop pile?
There are a few benefits to choosing a loop pile carpet such as the Stoney River range. The main advantage is that this kind of carpet is able to withstand heavy foot traffic without looking too flat or worn. This is because loop carpet is made from looped fibres that are tufted into the backing, so when the carpet is walked on, the pressure is spread over each loop fibre rather than a cut end (like a twist or plush). This means that loop carpets tend to last for a long time. Combined with the textured design of Stoney River, this is a carpet that is designed for years of luxurious, low maintenance living.
Does Stoney River carpet look synthetic?
Not at all. In fact, you’d be amazed just how good synthetic carpets look these days. While nylon carpets have been on the market for a long time, the new breed of synthetic carpets available at Carpet Court have undergone an enormous transformation over the past few years, making it one of the most popular yarns of choice for carpet buyers looking for quality, durability and affordable style.
What does ‘solution-dyed’ mean?
This fibre used in the Stoney River carpet is called solution dyed nylon due to its colouring process being different to traditional methods of liquid dyeing yarns. Traditionally, carpet yarn is manufactured in a white colour, with liquid dyes then used to soak the colour in. The difference with solution dyed nylon is that the yarn is coloured when the extrusion process (which is when the nylon is being converted from pellets into yarn) occurs. Because the
colour is part of the yarn’s actual composition (rather than a liquid added to the yarn after it has been extruded), the carpet is extremely colour fast, which is good news if you’re installing it in sunny areas such as a lounge room or sunroom.
Solution dyed nylon carpet such as Stoney River is also super easy to keep clean due to the fact that it is manufactured so that it does not take up any liquid. This makes it incredibly resistant to spills as the liquid cannot soak into the yarn.
