Prompt and immediate attention to any spillages or stains is paramount to avoid the penetration of a stain into the carpet fibres. Liquids (particularly hot liquids) must be attended to immediately. If allowed to cool or dry, the stain will be almost impossible to remove. Care must be taken as haphazard attempts at spot removal can cause permanent stain setting, pile distortion and loss of colour. More detailed information on how to care for your carpet can be found by downloading the full product brochure here.
Made in Australia by leading industry experts Godfrey Hirst, Symbolic is the latest in versatile synthetic carpets offering outstanding quality, supreme softness and unrivalled durability for Australian homes.
Symbolic is a truly luxurious Solution Dyed Nylon (SDN) carpet, delivering sublime quality in a dense 1/10 gauge pile which is a luscious 12mm high in a cut and twist style. These combined qualities rank Symbolic amongst the best of the best in durable, resilient, synthetic carpets.
Why is Symbolic carpet suitable for family homes?
Let’s face it, family homes can be tough on carpet. Kids aren’t always diligent about wiping their muddy shoes or taking off their footy boots before coming inside. Pets challenge our carpets in all sorts of ways while birthday parties, family gatherings and all the trials and tribulations of toddlerhood test our carpet’s resilience.
Godfrey Hirst’s newest design in solution dyed nylon, Symbolic, has been designed for maximum durability. It represents all the benefits of innovative synthetic carpets while rivalling pure wool carpets for their classic beauty and luxurious comfort.
Symbolic has incredible tensile strength meaning it will bounce back and hold its form beneath heavy foot traffic and furniture. Being a cut pile, it is easily cleaned with a regular vacuum preventing dust and dirt from penetrating the fibres or becoming trapped within them. Treated with Stainblock technology, those inevitable spills are initially repelled and easily cleaned up, stopping them from becoming stains.
Warranties comprising fifteen-year fade, stain, soil and wear resistance demonstrate the superior manufacturing properties Symbolic is designed with. It can be laid in your busy family rooms, bedrooms and formal lounge rooms and will continue to look equally good in all of them in years to come.
What is special about solution dyed nylon?
Solution dyed nylon carpet (also referred to as SDN) has superior fade resistance properties compared to other synthetic fibres.
With today’s home designs encompassing floor to ceiling glass, fade resistant carpet is ideal. Along with its colourfast capabilities, solution dyed nylon is also highly durable and offers excellent stain resistance. It copes perfectly well with the daily wear and tear delivered in busy family homes while remaining supremely soft underfoot. Solution dyed nylon is a carpet fibre known for being a strong performer with astonishing beauty. It’s hypo-allergenic properties make it a great alternative to pure wool carpets for allergy or asthma sufferers because it doesn’t shed fibres like some wool carpets can when they are new.
Which carpet is better for my home, synthetic or wool?
Both synthetic and wool carpets offer great insulation but wool may have the edge within colder climates. Wool is a natural, sustainable fibre but synthetic fibres offer a hypo-allergenic option. Both fibres are soft and durable, while wool has natural stain resistance due to the naturally-occurring lanolin found in sheep’s wool. The excellent stain resistance properties found in synthetic carpets come from the manufacturing developments in stain resistance technology.
Wool has natural resiliency but synthetic fibres compete well in this regard. Different price points within each type of fibre means you may find both affordable options for your budget.
In a modern home which receives a lot of direct sunlight, you may find the superior fade resistance of solution dyed nylon carpets a deal breaker.
