Prompt and immediate attention to any spillages or stains is paramount to avoid the penetration of a stain into the carpet fibres. Liquids (particularly hot liquids) must be attended to immediately. If allowed to cool or dry, the stain will be almost impossible to remove. Care must be taken as haphazard attempts at spot removal can cause permanent stain setting, pile distortion and loss of colour. More detailed information on how to care for your carpet can be found by downloading the full product brochure here.
What are the benefits of a cut pile carpet?
Cut pile carpets are a very popular choice for any active Australian household. Available in both twist pile (which is featured in the Antilles Twist range) and plush pile formats, cut pile carpet allows the other design elements such as furniture, artwork or beautiful views to shine while supporting the overall aesthetics of the room. Cut twist piles with their twisted yarn tend to appear as two shades of the one colour and are regarded as being more relaxed and less formal.
Is Antilles Twist a good choice for high traffic areas?
Yes, it’s a fantastic choice. Both durable and resilient, Antilles Twist synthetic carpet fibres easily bounce back into shape, even in high traffic areas.
This hard wearing carpet range is also manufactured using an innovative treatment to help protect against staining and soiling. With this in place, your Antilles Twist will stay cleaner for longer, reducing the amount of maintenance time.
Does solution dyed nylon carpet look synthetic?
You’d be amazed just how good synthetic carpets can look these days. Although nylon carpets have been on the market for a long time, the new breed of synthetic carpets has undergone an enormous transformation over the past few years, making it one of the yarns of choice for many carpet buyers looking for quality, durability and affordable.
What does ‘solution-dyed’ mean?
This fibre is called solution dyed nylon due to its colouring process being different to traditional methods of liquid dyeing yarns. While traditionally the carpet yarn was manufactured in a white colour, with liquid dyes then used to soak the colour in, solution dyed nylon is coloured when the extrusion process (which is when the nylon is being converted from pellets into yarn) occurs. The nylon pellets are mixed with dye pellets and then extruded into yarn as its final colour.
What are the benefits of solution dyed nylon?
Carpets such as Antilles Twist that have been crafted from solution dyed nylon have a number of great benefits. The colour is part of the yarn’s actual composition (rather than a liquid added to the yarn after it has been extruded). This makes the carpet extremely colour fast, which is perfect if you’re installing it in sunny areas.
Solution dyed nylon carpet is also very easy to keep clean due to the fact that it is manufactured so that it does not take up any liquid. As a result, it is incredibly resistant to spills as the liquid cannot soak into the yarn.

Is there an Antilles Twist carpet colour to suit my décor?
Antilles Twist offers you a smorgasbord of 11 contemporary colours, designed to suit any decorating taste. If you have a household teeming with young children or pets, we recommend you consider steering clear of carpets in bright whites and other light colours, as they tend to be more unforgiving when it comes to dirt and stains. A slightly deeper colour palette is great at helping to conceal a multitude of stains, and camouflage moulting pet hair. Less time cleaning means more time living!
If sophistication and design impact is what you’re hoping to achieve, look to shades such as Streetscape and Ionic to add instant wow. If you love the look of traditional style or Scandi décor, check out the lighter shades of carpet which are also a good choice if you want to make a smaller space feel a little bit larger. For the ultimate styling versatility, you can’t go past the range of colours which can be used as part of almost any colour scheme.
Should I also buy underlay?
We highly recommend you purchase underlay for your Antilles Twist carpet as it adds an extra layer of comfort and protects your carpet from wear and tear. In these days when power costs are skyrocketing, underlay is a fantastic added extra if you want to save energy. Depending on its thickness and density, it can actually help cut reduce your energy bill by preventing the loss of heat through the floor.
