Hybrid flooring is an innovative new flooring solution blending the visual beauty of real timber floors with the optimum features of laminate and vinyl floating floors combined. Marked as the next generation of rigid floating floors, Carpet Court have a grand selection of Hybrid flooring to suit all areas of your home, including bathrooms and laundries*. And herein lies the appeal of Hybrid floating floors – there is no need to find an alternative flooring solution for your wet areas! Enjoy the visual beauty of floors that flow continuously throughout your home and the ease and convenience of cleaning and maintaining just one flooring type if you wish.

Different types of Hybrid flooring

Carpet Court’s Veles Multilayer Hybrid flooring is a three-layered product available in ten incredible colours reflecting the natural beauty of our great Australian landscape. Veles is built to maintain stability during extreme temperature changes and has a very high level of impact resistance. The trademarked Trigon Core Technology is at the heart of Veles’ robust and stable constitution, and is a waterproof, durable product providing exceptional resilience.

Another popular type of Hybrid flooring is the Aqua-Tuf collection also available in a longboard range. Aqua-Tuf can be installed throughout the home* as it is 100% waterproof due to its rigid waterproof core. It requires minimal subfloor preparation so is a quick and easy DIY product and a cost effective floor to lay using the simple four-sided locking system.

A selection of sunproof Hybrid planks includes the Sunlite and the Sunplank collections. These are four-layer products designed with significant sun-proof and fade-proof technology to counter the harmful effects of our powerful Australian sun. They feature solid-core planks which are rigid and provide exceptional performance in extreme heat and cold with reinforcement from the quartz-enhanced top coating delivering maximum resistance to fading, damaging UV rays and heavy foot traffic.

Also included in Carpet Court’s range of Hybrid flooring is the super strong Kenect 5G collection.  Kenect 5G features advanced core technology using Limestone Calcium bonded with Polyvinyl Chloride and two LVT surface layers giving it added stability. It is named for its 5G locking system which provides for quick installation over most existing hard floors.

What makes Hybrid flooring waterproof?

At the heart of the layered Hybrid floating flooring technology lies a waterproof core with protective surface layers. The difference between this and other floating floors described as water resistant, is that water resistance comes from coatings on the surface layers, whereas hybrid flooring installs waterproofing at a core layer, along with protective surface layers.

Does Hybrid flooring have a natural timber look?

Hybrid flooring utilises reproductive technologies which enable it to bear an uncanny resemblance to authentic timber floors. High definition photographic layers replicate the visual beauty of real timber, topped with surface protection layers and heavy duty wear layers making Hybrid floating flooring not just a feast for your eyes, but durable, resilient and easy to clean.

Kenect 5G is available in eight stunning styles reflecting natural Oak, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt woodgrains, textures and colours with an incredible likeness. Heritage Oak Blend, Sandy Oak and Rare Ghost Oak bring light freshness to the modern décor and Coastal Blackbutt and Valley Spotted offer the natural warm hues we expect from these Australian timbers. For a greater depth of colour Hand Burnished Oak and Mt Fuji Oak are cool browns with neutral tones set to enhance most colour schemes.

Are Hybrid floors easy to maintain?

Thank goodness we no longer have to spend hours on our hands and knees scrubbing floors or covering carpets with plastic mats and shouting at the kids to remove their shoes! Low-maintenance is what we expect of our homes today, and what creates more time in our busy lives. We look for low maintenance floating floors and Hybrid flooring certainly meets that criteria.

A regular sweep, mop or vacuum (with a hardfloor brush attachment) will remove everyday dust and dirt particles and a weekly wash will keep your Hybrid floating flooring looking amazing. Always consult the manufacturer’s guidelines for maintaining your floating floors, where you will also find information regarding the correct products to use and general care instructions along with tips and advice on handling spills and marks.

Where can Hybrid flooring be installed?

Subject to the building regulations in your area, Hybrid flooring can be installed in any area of the home including kitchens, laundries and bathrooms. This is due to its highly waterproof core and protective surface layers. Hybrid floating floors can be installed as a DIY project or by your local Carpet Court expert.
