Carpet Court ambassador, Shelley Craft Shares Top Tips
for Simple Kitchen Updates

Need to upgrade your kitchen? Kitchen renovations can be expensive, disruptive and plain hard work.
But the good news is you don’t need to rip it all out and start again.

To help, Carpet Court ambassador and Australian TV personality, Shelley Craft, shares her top tips
for a simple kitchen revamp with surprisingly amazing results.

New Benchtops Top Tips for Simple Kitchen Updates | New Benchtops

Along with cabinet doors, benchtops dominate the look of your kitchen, so replacing them is a sure-fire way to refresh your space. Laminate is a great budget-friendly choice and there is a myriad of colours and designs to choose from. Stone, marble and timber benchtops, on the other hand, will cost more but the wow factor will be well worth it!

New Look Splashback

Adding a bold, colourful splashback can fool people into thinking you have a brand new kitchen. If you already have a tiled splashback, you don’t need to replace them to get a fresh look. Simply re-grout them or apply a coat of special tile paint to give it a new lease on life.

Paint the Walls and Ceiling Simple Kitchen Updates | Painting Tips

A fresh lick of paint will make your kitchen feel brand new. Lighter colours can instantly make a small space appear brighter and bigger. It’s incredible what a new coat of white paint on the ceiling will do to refresh the space.

Clean and Declutter

It’s amazing how quickly we tend to accumulate “stuff”. Clear out anything you no longer need or love. Then, replace them with a select few accessories or, better yet, keep your space beautifully clean and clear.

New Flooring  Simple Kitchen Updates | New Laminate Flooring

The easiest way to update your floors is to install laminate or vinyl flooring. Laminate flooring simply clicks together over a flat surface and doesn’t require any treatment or coating. Vinyl is also a wonderfully versatile option, especially as it can be made to resemble wood, stone, marble and more. It’s also incredibly waterproof, heat and stain-resistant, and easy to clean.
