Timber floating flooring

As Australia’s largest flooring retailer with over 200 locally owned and operated stores, Carpet Court offer a diverse range of flooring solutions for your home or business. One of their most popular lines is their naturally beautiful timber flooring collection.

In any home or office, the floors are one of the most dominant features in the room, a foundation which offsets your décor. A classic, sleek timber floor can transform any interior with ease, creating a whole new look and energy within the room. Increasingly popular in Australian homes, timber floating floors add warmth and character to any environment, from a rustic cottage to a contemporary penthouse apartment.

While timber floors are visually one of the most appealing flooring products on the market, they also have many practical qualities. Easy to install, timber floating floorboards will last a lifetime, providing a low maintenance, durable, easy to clean flooring solution.

Carpet Court’s timber flooring line includes a range of products within which there are varying colours, board widths, lengths and thicknesses, suitable for any environment and budget. Choose from many elegant Australian hardwoods or consider the option of genuine European timbers such as the stunning Oak Avenue range. Carpet Court’s Readyflor product provides a simple floating floor option.

New to Carpet Court’s extensive timber floating flooring range is the Balmain Oak line. The Balmain Oak Wideboard product brings a new element to your floors, offering an on-trend solution of wider, longer boards. While perfectly suited to large, open-plan rooms, these boards are also ideal for creating a sense of uncluttered space and vastness in any room.

The natural colours in timber floors

For modern homes with a crisp, cool colour palette in whites and greys, the natural colours, knots and grains in timber floating floors brings an element of warmth and vibrancy to the room. The vast differences in natural timber provides the perfect base upon which to match a variety of colour schemes.

In the Balmain Oak Wideboard floating floors, several shades reflecting nature’s true beauty are available. Consider Driftwood in delightfully blended greys and browns with a soft, flowing grain. Highland Oak and Limed Oak are versatile colours with contrasting earthy shades sure to complement any home décor. It’s hard to go past Aged Oak and Brushed Natural Oak with their deliciously rich brown lustre giving off warm, fuzzy vibes and who wouldn’t love Smoked Oak with its classy elegance and tasteful tones.

Which rooms are Balmain Oak Wideboard floating floorboards suitable for?

Our expert staff can advise you on which floating flooring products are suitable for specific rooms in your home.

It is recommended that Balmain Oak Wideboard floating flooring is installed indoors where it won’t be exposed to excessive moisture, sunlight, heat or humidity. Therefore, if installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, it is suitable for most rooms in the house except for wet areas such as the bathroom and laundry.

In rooms where direct sunlight may occur, your timber floating floor finish can be protected by installing window coverings from Carpet Court’s range of plantation shutters, roller, vertical, roman or panel glide blinds.

The wider and longer board design of Balmain Oak Wideboard reduces the number of joins, so this product is ideal for home decorators wanting to create a clean, uncluttered flooring impression and is quick to install.

Are timber floors easy to clean?

Timber floating floors are ideal for family homes where spills, dirt and dust are common. They are very easy to clean but it is important to use the manufacturer’s recommended tools and products. The correct care of your floating flooring will ensure your investment in timeless timber floating floorboards will remain viable for many years to come.

Use a microfibre mop or an electrostatic cloth to easily sweep up dust, dirt, pet hair and those random dirt particles young families seem to bring inside. You can also vacuum with a brush attachment to your vacuum cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors. It is important to note that using the wrong vacuum attachment may scratch the surface finish.

When those inevitable spills occur, it is recommended that you clean them up promptly and wipe with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. Mopping with a wet mop is not recommended on a timber floor. Some footwear such as stiletto heels can damage timber floors, so these are best avoided.

Following the manufacturer’s care instructions is the best way to ensure your timber floating floors remain clean and lustrous for years to come.

Are timber floors durable?

It is difficult to find a more durable flooring product than a hardwearing, timber floor. Timber has organic ‘flaws’ such as knots and irregular grains so marks that naturally occur with foot traffic are difficult to detect.

Timber floors are ideal for withstanding the everyday rigours of family living. Children and pets can give your floors a bit of a workout, so tough, long-wearing timber floating floors are an ideal solution for busy family homes.

Rest assured, your Balmain Oak Wideboard floating floors comes with a manufacturer’s 25 year residential wear warranty. It also has a lifetime structural warranty to cover potential warping and twisting of any boards. More information regarding timber floating floor warranties can be found on our website.
