Keeping your internal environment “laminate friendly” is important. The area should be well ventilated, occupied and protected from extreme sunlight and extreme swings of humidity and temperature. Failure to provide such an environment can lead to fading, excessive expansion / contraction (gaps) or noisy floors. More detailed information on caring for your laminate floor can be found and downloaded here.
What are the advantages of extra long planks?
Quick-Step Largo laminate floating flooring offers all the design benefits of real timber floors at a fraction of the price. This range features our longest and widest planks, which further highlight the texture and character of the true-to-timber finish. At more than 2 metres long, they exude class, sophistication and quality.
Why should I choose Quick-Step Largo laminate floating flooring?
There are both practical and aesthetic reasons for considering wider and longer floating floorboards. From a design point of view, Quick-Step Largo floating floors offer a broader surface that allows the natural grain, knots and textures to really stand out. This gives your flooring a feeling of craftsmanship, and lets you create a luxurious canvas on which to base your home decorating theme.
On a more practical level, as the boards are wider and longer than most you won’t need as many to cover the same amount of square footage as you would thinner, shorter boards. This makes the installation process even quicker and more hassle-free than usual.
Will Quick-Step Largo laminate floating floors work in a smaller space?
Contrary to what you may think, you don’t have to install smaller, narrower boards in small rooms. In fact, if you choose a wide, long style such as those in our Quick-Step Largo range, you will actually give the impression that the room is bigger because fewer joints will be visible.
Will these floating floorboards be prone to scratching?
The beauty of the entire Quick-Step floating flooring range is that it is extremely resistant to wear, tear and scratches, so you can rest assured it will withstand even the most active families and activities.
The Quick-Step brand is renowned for investing a great deal into research and development, especially in the design and manufacture of the durability of the surface layer. All the Quick-Step floating floors are given a specially designed 'Scratch Guard' treatment, which guarantees that they will be much more resistant to micro-scratches than floors without this treatment.
Do I need a professional to install Quick-Step Largo floating floors?
The Quick-Step system is renowned for its absolute ease of installation, so even if you’re a novice do-it-yourselfer, you’ll find assembling and installing the floor very easy.
Quick-Step Largo uses the versatile Uniclic system, which is a simple click-together system, easy to use if you follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Do I have to install the floating floors in any specific direction?
Whether you prefer a look that goes lengthwise or width wise in the room is entirely up to your personal taste and either way is easy to do from a technical perspective.
However, here’s a little design tip: if you lay your floating floorboards lengthwise in the same direction as the primary light source, and in the same line as the most frequently used entrance, the result will be a more pleasing, seamless visual aesthetic.
Can I get help with the installation?
If DIY isn’t for you, Carpet Court can arrange for one of our flooring experts to install the floating floors for you. For a completely hassle-free experience, you can also take advantage of our free, in-home measure and quote service, where a comprehensive quote including the flooring product of your choice, the underlay and the installation costs are included. If required, we can also supply an estimate for moving your furniture for you during the installation process, and the removal of your old flooring.
Will anyone be able to tell that these floating floors are not real timber floors?
We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure our laminate floating floors look as close to the real thing as possible. So much so, it can be quite difficult to see the difference. So how can you spot the difference between real timber floors and laminate floating flooring? Laminate doesn’t damage as easily as real hardwood, so if you spot a floor that shows small dents or marks, it is most likely hardwood. Also, the technical treatments mean that laminate doesn’t stain in the way natural timber floors do, which is why you won’t see water marks or discolouration of your Quick-Step Largo floating flooring.
If you’ve always dreamt about having the warmth and luxurious appeal of a timber floor but the budget says otherwise, Quick-Step laminate is the perfect choice.
