Prompt and immediate attention to any spillages or stains is paramount to avoid the penetration of a stain into the carpet fibres. Liquids (particularly hot liquids) must be attended to immediately. If allowed to cool or dry, the stain will be almost impossible to remove. Care must be taken as haphazard attempts at spot removal can cause permanent stain setting, pile distortion and loss of colour. More detailed information on how to care for your carpet can be found by downloading the full product brochure here.
What are the practical benefits of this carpet?
Wayfarer carpets within the Gaia Wool range are classed as ‘extra heavy duty’ styles for a number of reasons.
Firstly, they are made from 100% wool fibres, which are highly crush resistant, yet wonderfully soft underfoot. This means they are exceptionally durable and help to retain the carpet’s luxury look and feel for longer.
Secondly, all styles within the Wayfarer collection feature a textured loop pile. This similarly aids crush resistance to keep visible tracking and footprints to a minimum.
As a natural fibre, wool also offers an exceptional level of stain resistance to help prevent any spills from causing major, long-lasting damage. The fibres’ makeup means that the stain will remain largely on the surface of the carpet, rather than seeping down into the pile, making it easier to clean.
All of these elements combine to create a carpet capable of coping with the rigours of active family living, promising a look that will last well into the future.
What kind of look does this carpet create?
With its textured loop pile and dual tonality, the Wayfarer collection will put the base of your space centre stage.
The varying height and weight within the pile creates texture for a sculptured base that draws the eye. Wayfarer carpets are therefore a great option if you’re going for a more minimalistic look, with plain walls and stripped back soft furnishings.
Pairing two soft, complementary tones for a more subtle finish, Bass, Hume and Princes are ideal for achieving this style. Alternatively, if you’re after a high impact aesthetic, Augusta, Flinder and Pacific combine two more distinct shades.
As well as the unique styling opportunities these colour combinations offer, they also help to camouflage the marks and hair that are often part and parcel of family life.
How do I care for this carpet?
Once installed, make sure you give your carpet a regular vacuum to pick up any dry debris. If you feel its finish is starting to look a little tired, a deep steam clean once every 12 to 18 months can really freshen things up. This can also help to eliminate the remnants of any spillages that have occurred.
Speaking of spills, while Wayfarer carpets do offer a superior level of stain resistance, it’s still essential that any stains are treated as soon as possible using warm water and an appropriate wool cleaning product. Blotting, rather than rubbing, from the outside of the stain inwards is advised, as this will prevent it from spreading or the carpet from becoming worn down.
