Your new carpet is a substantial investment and like your other fine furnishings, requires proper care to keep it attractive over the years to come. You can protect your investment, prolong the life of your carpet and enhance the quality of your indoor environment by establishing a regular maintenance schedule. A comprehensive carpet care program consists of four elements: preventative measures, regular vacuuming, spot cleaning and steam cleaning. More detailed information on each of these elements can be found in the product brochure attached here.
What are the benefits of a polypropylene carpet?
If you want to emulate the luxury look of real wool on a budget, a polypropylene carpet from Carpet Court’s Borneo collection is the way to go.
Polypropylene carpets are also highly stain resistant, making them a great option for children’s bedrooms where spills are likely to occur. They also offer impressive colour fastness, so are well-suited to spaces with a lot of natural sunlight.
What are the benefits of a loop pile?
Loop pile carpets help to improve a carpet’s durability. The tightly looped fabric makes the fibres more resistant to pile-crushing helping them to retain their shape for longer and minimise footprints and tracking.
In addition to their practical benefits, loop carpets like Borneo offer some unique positives from a styling perspective. With loops of different heights, the fibres form distinctive patterns, adding visual interest and depth to your room’s base.
Loop piles also help to create colour depth and shade, with the Borneo collection’s palette made up of dark, earthy colours that are ideal for active living.
How do I care for this carpet?
Keep your Borneo carpet looking as good as new by vacuuming regularly to pick up any dry debris or dirt. This prevents grains from becoming embedded in the fibres, which can cause them to wear down over time and create unsightly patches. To clean deep down into the pile, we also recommend treating your Borneo carpet to a steam clean every 12 to 18 months.
In the case of spills or more serious stains, make sure you address them as quickly as possible. Try using hot water and a clean cloth in the first instance. Blot rather than rub the stain, working from the outside in to prevent the stain from spreading or the carpet from becoming worn down.
