Care Instructions

Your new carpet is a substantial investment and like your other fine furnishings, requires proper care to keep it attractive over the years to come. You can protect your investment, prolong the life of your carpet and enhance the quality of your indoor environment by establishing a regular maintenance schedule. A comprehensive carpet care program consists of four elements: preventative measures, regular vacuuming, spot cleaning and steam cleaning. More detailed information on each of these elements can be found in the product brochure attached here.

Why should I consider Seamist carpet?

The natural colours of the ocean bring a fresh new look and feel into your interiors. Crafted for the eco-friendly home, Seamist is exceptionally hardwearing and durable, making it the perfect choice for active families.

Is Seamist carpet Australian made?

Yes, it’s made right here in Australia, which is something we’re very proud of. This unique, eco-friendly carpet range incorporates the very latest technology in renewable carpet manufacturing. Seamist uses yarn made with Sorona renewably sourced polymer, which consists of 37% natural corn sugar.

Combined with exceptional stain resistance, colourfast protection, durability and ultra-softness, this collection is in class of its own.

What sort of warranties can I expect from Seamist?

All Seamist carpets are backed by lifetime stain and soil warranties and 25 year wear and colourfast warranties. This means the surface pile of your carpet is warranted to resist stains from most food and beverages (including mustard, hot coffee, herbal teas) and water soluble, non-wax or non-oil based products for the life of the carpet. The soil resistance warranty means the carpet is warranted to not have a noticeable colour change due to deposits of dry soiling resulting from normal indoor household foot traffic for the life of the carpet. Even better, because they are Australian warranties, you can be assured of the reliability and service of Australian after sales service.

How eco-friendly is Seamist carpet?

When it comes to environmentally friendly flooring, it doesn’t get much better than this. Imagine the thought of a carpet that has come from the farm to your floor. That’s the story of Seamist, which is part of the Redbook green® range. The story begins in the cornfield, where corn is harvested and the natural corn sugar extracted. The extracted corn sugar is then processed and transformed into Sorona® renewable sourced™ polymer, which is then extruded to make triexta yarn. The triexta yarn is twisted, heat set and finally tufted into beautiful Seamist carpet for your home.

Is this carpet low-maintenance?

With extraordinary inbuilt stain and soil resistance, you can relax when entertaining friends and family at home without the concern of any ‘how will I clean this?’ moments. Just cold water on a cloth and blotting at the stain will leave your Seamist carpet clean. Now that’s what we call low maintenance!

Is this carpet soft as well as durable?

Seamist lets you enjoy the very best of both worlds. This clever carpet collection is equipped with Ultra Soft® technology that brings a whole new level of softness and comfort to your floor. When you run your hands through the exceptionally soft fibres, you’ll feel the difference immediately.

What is triexta?

This premium carpet collection is manufactured with triexta, a new classification of carpet fibre. Unlike most other fibre types, the unique kinked molecular structure of triexta means Seamist carpet has the ability to bounce back into shape, even after years of foot traffic.

Will the colours fade?

As an Australian made carpet, Seamist is designed to withstand the harsh Australian climate. Using the latest deep dyeing technology, in which heat-infused colour is locked into each and every fibre, Seamist is extremely resistant to fading and performs well in areas of direct sunlight.

How does carpet help reduce my energy costs?

Carpet gives your floor amazing insulation properties which helps reduce heating and cooling costs. When you realise that an uninsulated floor can account for 10-20% of heat loss, you understand how much money you’re wasting trying to keep your home warm. The amazing thing about carpet is that its insulation can actually be up to ten times higher than that of other floor coverings. And if you install underlay, you’ll increase the level of thermal insulation even more.
