Your new carpet is a substantial investment and like your other fine furnishings, requires proper care to keep it attractive over the years to come. You can protect your investment, prolong the life of your carpet and enhance the quality of your indoor environment by establishing a regular maintenance schedule. A comprehensive carpet care program consists of four elements: preventative measures, regular vacuuming, spot cleaning and steam cleaning. More detailed information on each of these elements can be found in the product brochure attached here.
What is triexta and what are its benefits?
Triexta fibres, as used in the Redbrook Green Mountain Chalet collection, are one of the latest breakthroughs in textile innovation. Made from Sorona, which is a renewably sourced biopolymer constructed from 37% natural corn sugar, triexta carpets combine the best of both natural and synthetic fibres.
As a result, while synthetic fibres are renowned for their resistance to wear, fading and pile crushing, the natural base of triexta fibres also means Mountain Chalet carpets are exceptionally soft underfoot.
Coupled with this, triexta carpets typically carry a significantly lower environmental footprint than other polymer carpets. This makes Mountain Chalet carpets an ideal option for those seeking a more ethical and sustainable flooring solution.
What do I need to know about this carpet from a styling perspective?
The Mountain Chalet collection features a spectrum of 20 shades, meaning there’s a style to suit every area and application within your home.
If you’re keen to embolden the base of your room, stray away from classic neutrals and choose from a number of jewel tones instead. The rich amethyst of Wild Violet, the lush green of Fragrant Pines and Alpine Thaw’s iron sky blue all have the capacity to bring a distinct character to your space without overdominating.
Alternatively, if you’re regularly changing up your interiors, a neutral carpet is likely to be your best bet. Glacial White, gentle Fawn and the on-trend grey of Cloud Cover are all options designed to meet the needs of even the most prolific style chameleon.
Mountain Chalet’s cut pile twist offers a smooth, yet slightly textured finish. Hardwearing and less likely to show tracking marks or footprints, this style of carpet is ideal for installation in high foot trafficked areas like entranceways and living areas.
How do I care for this carpet?
Keep your Mountain Chalet carpet looking as good as new by vacuuming regularly to pick up any dry debris or dirt. This prevents grains from becoming embedded in the fibres, which can cause them to wear down over time and create unsightly patches. To clean deep down into the pile, we also recommend treating your Mountain Chalet carpet to a steam clean every 12 to 18 months too.
In the case of spills or more serious stains, make sure you address them as quickly as possible. Try using hot water and a clean cloth in the first instance. Blot rather than rub the stain, working from the outside in, to prevent the stain from spreading or the carpet from becoming worn down. If you find that water alone doesn’t do the trick, use the same method to apply some appropriate carpet cleaning product.
